What is Jewish music? While Wagner addressed this question in
his infamously anti-semitic essay “Jewishness in Music,”
Off Centre offers a more empirical solution. Join us as we compare
and contrast the Jewish music of non-Jewish composers and the
non-Jewish music of Jewish composers. To make matters more complicated,
La Scala star mezzo Annamaria Popescu, accordionist Joseph Macerollo
and the David Buchbinder Ensemble will throw in a little Klezmer
spice!
